Biei Seibinomori
Seibi no Mori, an art museum that utilizes the former Seibi Elementary School building, reopened on April 27. The museum had been closed since 2021 due to a decline in visitors, but will reopen in response to requests from the local community for its reopening. The centerpiece of the exhibition will be reproductions of works by the unidentified artist Banksy. The 54 reproductions on display include “Devolved Parliament” and “Girl with the Balloon. Devolved Parliament” depicts chimpanzees debating on the floor of the House, while ‘Girl with the Balloon’ was famously shredded in a hidden frame at the moment it was sold at auction.
