Biei Winter Illumination Course
Come experience a special winter night in Biei by taking BIEI VIEW BUS!!!
Our guides will guide you to the beautiful winter scenery in Biei, including the fantastically illuminated Blue Pond, Shirahige-no-Taki Falls, and lighted Shirogane Biruke-no-mori!
Also, this tour includes a stop at “Biei Senka”, a popular spot known for its Biei-grown vegetables, local processed goods, and sweets made with Biei wheat.
This tour operates with a minimum of one participant, making this tour ideal for solo travelers and small groups.
From mid to late November, the Blue Pond transforms into a snow-covered wonderland. As the lights reflect on the icy surface, you’ll witness a breathtaking scene unlike anything in summer. Enjoy the stunning harmony of snow and light — without the stress of driving on snow area.

🚌 Bus Information
- 1. This is a round-trip bus departing from the “Shiki-no-Joho-kan” (2 min walk from JR Biei Station) to the Christmas Tree spot.
- 2. One-way use is not available. Seats are unreserved. Please wear your seatbelt while the bus is moving.
- 3. The stay at the site is approximately 20 minutes. It may vary depending on congestion.
- 4. After arrival, the bus will leave temporarily to avoid traffic. Please take all valuables with you.
- 5. Staff will announce the departure time. Please return to the T-junction boarding point at that time. Except for unavoidable delays, the bus departs at the announced time. Please cooperate with on-time departure.
- 6. To help staff identify you easily, please wear your ticket holder around your neck.
- 7. Cars and buses pass through the road. Please stay to the roadside when vehicles approach.
- 8. Areas outside the road are private farmland. Do not enter the fields.
- 9. Flying or filming with drones is generally prohibited in Biei Town. (Even with permission, please refrain during this tour.)
- 10. The boarding area may be slippery. Please watch your step.
- 11. There are no toilets near the Christmas Tree. Please use restrooms before boarding.
- 12. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in supporting this bus service project.
🚍 Purpose of the Access Bus
The “Christmas Tree” is a popular scenic spot visited by many people each year. However, the large number of vehicles arriving in a short time causes heavy congestion and impacts the daily life of local residents.
To address this issue, the Biei Tourism Association is operating this access bus as a social experiment project, supported by the FY2025 Sustainable Tourism Support Program (Hokkaido Tourism Organization) under the “Regional Tourism Strengthening Support Project.”

Sightseeing Bus and City Bus operated by Furano Bus Co.
This is the only bus to go between Biei and Asahikawa Airport. Sightseeing bus departs at JR Furano station or JR Asahikawa Station is also avaliable.

City Bus operated by Dohoku Bus Co.
This is the bus to go between Asahikawa, Biei, Shirogane Blue Pond and Biei Shirogane Hot Spring. It operates everyday. Please check the bus stop on the map on the bottom. Please note the bus stop from JR Biei Station to Shirogane area is in front of the Asahikawa Bank which is on the main street.
