The tree was named after it was featured on the packaging of the “Seven Stars” tobacco brand in 1976.
The surrounding fields create a beautiful patchwork landscape with colorful crops, especially from early summer when flowers bloom to mid-summer when wheat sways in the wind.

This area is known as “Patchwork Road,” where different crops are planted in each plot, forming Biei’s iconic scenery. The slightly elevated location offers magnificent views of the rolling hills.
In winter, the tree stands gracefully in the vast white snowfields, presenting a serene and stunning landscape unique to northern regions.
If you notice anyone entering the fields, kindly remind them to follow the rules and help us protect the natural beauty of Biei.
