Forest Snowshoeing - Grand Forest & Snow Plain Course
Don your snowshoes, and head into a winter forest. Enjoy precious time to the fullest in a magical world!
This is a snowshoeing experience in a forest of giant trees and a magnificent snow plain.
The bamboo grass will be buried under the snow, so you don't need to worry about getting stuck and can stroll freely.
You'll be addicted to the feel of the powdery snow as it floats around in the air!
And unlike skiing, you don't need any special skills to take part!
※This course begins by climbing up 286 steps, so a good level of fitness is required.

| Others | <Clothing Guide> ● For outer layers, a waterproof, windproof jacket like ski wear is recommended. A jacket with a hood is preferable for extra protection. Down jackets are also acceptable. For pants, we recommend waterproof, windproof overpants that can be worn over your regular pants. Snow can splash up to your waist when snowshoeing, so jeans are not recommended as they can get wet and cold. For those with separate rain gear like Gore-Tex, you can wear warm clothing underneath and use it as your outer layer. **We also offer rental outerwear and overpants for an additional fee (4,000 yen per set), though quantities and sizes are limited. Please request this when making your reservation. (Only unisex sizes M, L, LL, XL are available. Smaller women may find them a bit large. No small sizes are available for children.) ● A warm hat (preferably one that covers your ears). ● Gloves made from materials that don't get wet easily (bringing two pairs of fleece gloves and switching them when wet is acceptable). Ski gloves are not necessary. ● Sunglasses are helpful if it's sunny, though not essential as the tour is only about two hours. Ski goggles are not necessary. ● Wear warm socks. If your feet tend to get cold, foot warmers (inserts for your shoes) can be effective. ● For base layers, we recommend warm, quick-drying materials like Heattech. Even in cold Hokkaido, you may sweat while moving, so cotton is not recommended. ● For mid-layers, fleece or warm pants are ideal. ● We recommend winter (snow) boots that are ankle-length or higher. These are necessary not only for this tour but also for winter travel in Hokkaido. Even in towns where snow has been cleared, there will still be snow on the streets, so sneakers are not suitable. ● For those who need them, we offer knee-length overshoes (nylon boot covers) to wear over your boots during the snowshoe tour, which will keep snow from entering your shoes. Please request these when making your reservation. |
