White birch street
White birches street was also selected “ 100 nature selections in Hokkaido “, grown naturally at the area of mudflow of Mt. Tokachi volcano eruption in 1925 increasing to Shirogane hot spring and create in 4 km array, which is the best viewing scale in Japan. 3 km walking pass runs parallel to the white birch street is best place to enjoy woods bathing as well as bird watching.

Shirohige Waterfall
Water springing from the greatest underground water in the nation is rushing to Shirogane Kobako mountain stream and the Venetian blue transparent river is being splashed.
Mountain trout fishing can be enjoyed at the upstream.

Shirogane steadfastness waterfall
The height of the waterfall is 20m located on the way of Shirogane hot spring and underground water gathering from all every side of Tokachi mount ranges is running through rocks. The amount of water is plenty and water temperature is low that makes your hands painful when you put your hands in the water even in summer. The group of stone Buddhists of Shirogane Shinshikoku(new 4 countries) Hachijuhachi kashiyo(88 places) are lined up, which creates one of the exquisite views in Shirogane aligned to the name of the holy place of Shirogane steadfastness waterfall.

Shirogane model stock farm
This is the highland farm owned by Kamikawa Product Union has 406.3ha large and 1,000 rearing dairy cows are taken care of during summer receiving the request of feeding of trusted cattle from in-out side of the town.
Taisetsu mount ranges and even Mt. Ashibetsu can be viewed at this point and huge 360-degree panorama can be enjoyed. Also, it was a useful site used as a meeting and transit point by each TV Company in order to observe the mountain scene from the distance at the time of Mt. Tokachi eruption in 1988.
It was used as CM of Suzuki Gymnny and Guriko chocolate. Snow landscape is also exquisite.

* This farm is not for tourists, therefore, producers and cows are in trouble if you enter there. Please be kindly not to enter the farm.

Shirogane relaxing forest
Turn right 1.3 km short of Mt. Tokachi Observatory. This forest is a mountain stream square can be touched fresh water directly. There are a wooden rock garden growing flowers and nuts and a walking pass enjoying forest bathing.

National Shirogane wild bird forest
This forest is located in 100 h sized highland virgin forest at 700 m elevation and identified many kinds of wild bird’ habitants that led to build an observatory house etc on the purpose of observing habits of wild birds by the Environment Agency in 1973.
Bird watching is also popular in the forest hearing several types of bird chirping such as black woodpecker, great spotted woodpecker, cuckoo and so on.

Mt.Tokachi　Observatory
Mt. Tokachi observatory at 930 m elevation can be enjoyed 360-degree panoramic view of the stretch of Biei & Furano and the Shyokanbetsu can also be viewed in the distance.
It is located about 4 km from Shirogane and can be enjoyed stroll as a little hard hiking course. Also, the combination of beauty, mountains viewing on the way of hiking and trees is breathtaking.

Mt. Tokachi volcanic sand information center
This center was opened in October 1992 as a simple shelter for residents in Shirogane area after the huge eruption of Mt. Tokachi in December 1988.
The first floor is the facility of the nation equipped multi-vision (movies), slides, and trial monitoring cameras. The second floor is the facility of the town exhibits the photos of the nationwide volcanic bombs and Mt. Tokachi and the volcanic vision that is a storyteller appears and explain a story.) can be experienced.
Helicopter-boats for emergency and 286 sections shelter where residents and tourists in Shirogane hot spring can evacuate has been established.
